Introduction

I have a deep interest in the dimensionality of material existence and the interconnections between natural forces. Using drawing, film, photography, fabric and a range of other media, I have explored events such as the life cycle of stars, the ceaseless metamorphoses of geological forms and the enigma of biological evolution, making intuitive connections between the idea of a cosmological habitable zone and an interior or psychic one - a habitat for consciousness.

In recent years my work has reflected more on human development and the concept of natality, investigating the intangible processes through which culture is both internalised and expressed through social conventions and experiences associated with creativity, play and schooling. Are these activities an instrument through which we unthinkingly re-create or re-iterate pre-determined cultural norms, or a zone of possibility that can allow us to both reflect upon and ultimately create an environment that generates a more spontaneous, unconditioned form of human experience?
